Mark Newton
Mark is an ICT professional with a global experience in project delivery. He has overseen infrastructure projects delivered in to the “hard places” of the world, including the all Siberia, Africa, the Outback. As a contractor he has spent time in the North West in the Resources sector in both Iron Ore and Precious Metals and managed the roll out of fixed cellular phone systems in Nigeria. With his career commencing in 1979 with the Royal Australian Navy, Mark has always managed to include a little travel with his work.
He has also spent time in the ‘bleeding edge’ of ICT development and brings a level of understanding on commercialisation of development projects and operating within a Venture Capital funded organisation. Previous NPO activities include being chairman of a retirement village board, during the doubling its capacity through a building program and opened the newly constructed Community Centre for residents.
Mark has completed a Graduate Certificate in Management (Technology Management) and attained MPD (CPPD) status as a Registered Project Manager. His current study is a Masters in Technology in Project Management. Born in Sydney, raised in Tasmania and father of 3 sandgropers Mark enjoys reading, technology concepts, maintaining networks and still calls Tasmania home after 20+ years of living in the West! |
