Details of the move: Sol Proops will be employed from early July 2010 within Transfield Services Project Management Office based in North Sydney. Transfield Services Project Management Office provides leadership and/or support in:
1. Client Representative roles in Project Management
2. EPC and EPCM opportunities for large capital work opportunities.
3. The execution of major capital works principally under Alliance or Managing Contractor style frameworks – including projects developed for the Projects & Engineering Group and the Transfield Services Infrastructure Fund.
4. The delivery of major shutdown services
5. Governance roles in relation to the systems and processes
Transfield Services uses to deliver large capital works projects. The Project Management Office remains the centre of excellence and custodian of project and program management systems and processes, ensuring uniformity and consistency of application across the company.
A Short Biography: Sol Proops was the Concession Company Senior Project Manager for two large PPP projects in Abu Dhabi, UAE - the Al Ain Industrial City (Roads and Infrastructure) and ICAD Industrial Effluent Treament Plant (Sewage Treatment). At a combined value of US$146 million, both projects were completed on time and on budget. Previously Sol was Consultant Project Manager for the design of Reliance Rail PPP Maintenance Facility for John Holland, and for the design of structural and rail elements of the Cronulla Line Duplication (Clearways) Project for RailCorp. Sol was also previously employed on Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games and CrossCity Motorway PPP, NSW.
