Student membership

Are you a full-time or part-time student?

 

AIPM provides a wealth of resources for students to assist them to successfully undertake studies to become proficient and competent Project Managers. Upon receipt of their qualification, students will be eligible for recognition as an Associate Member of AIPM.

 

To be eligible for student membership, you are required to be a full-time student enrolled at any faculty or institution or a part-time student undertaking a project management course with an AIPM Endorsed course provider is also entitled to apply for Student Membership online.

 

Evidence of enrolment from the course provider is required to be provided at the time of application and each time renewal is due.

 

Fees:    
Full-time student membership is free for up to two years
Part-time student membership is $70.40
 

Affiliate membership

Are you interested or involved in project management but not necessarily a Project Manager (PM)?

 

An ‘Affiliate’ is an individual who is interested in being affiliated with the project management industry and desires access to AIPM’s resources. They may be an individual who has a strong interest in PM but does not hold recognised PM skills. Formal qualifications or certification or significant work experience in PM are not required. Affiliate members are not able to use post-nominals, vote at the AGM or in elections or take part in the RegPM Certification Program.

 

Affiliates of AIPM can apply for professional recognition as an Associate Member or Member of AIPM upon satisfaction of the relevant criteria. Apply for Affiliate membership online.

Associate membership

Can you show development as a project management professional?

 

To be eligible for Associate Membership (AAIPM) you will:

 

  • be able to demonstrate at least two years work experience in PM
    OR
  • have attained formal qualifications issued by a registered Training Organisation (RTO) to at least AQF Level IV;
    OR
  • have received a certification that is recognised by AIPM, including:
    • IPMA Certification (Level C or Higher) 
    • PMA Certification (Level C or higher)  
    • PMI Certification (PMP or higher)  
    • Prince 2 Practitioner Certification  
    • CompTIA Project+  
    • CPM from the International Association of Project and Programme Managers (IAPPM)  
    • CPM from the Association for Project Management (APM)  
    • Master Project Manager from AAPM  
    • PME from ICEC (France)  
    • CDP from APITEP (France)  
    • Zertifizierung from GPM (Level C or higher, )

An Associate Member can use the post nominal AAIPM and can vote at the AGM or in elections. An Associate Member can apply to become a Member of AIPM by showing they have gained the additional experience or qualification required for member status.

 

Any Associate member who is awarded RegPM certification at either CPPM or CPPD level automatically has their membership upgraded to Member.

Member

Are you an established and competent Project Manager with five years project management experience?

 

A Member (MAIPM) has demonstrated skills, knowledge and competency to perform in the role of a project team member, Project Manager or Programme Director. To be recognised as a Member, the applicant needs to demonstrate

AND

  • at least five years relevant experience in PM.

A Member can use the post-nominal MAIPM, and can vote at the AGM or in elections.

Life Fellow, Fellow and Honorary Fellow

Fellow (FAIPM) and Life Fellow (LAIPM) are honours awarded for exceptional contribution to the PM profession. Fellowships are awarded by the Council of Fellows in consideration of the requirements set out in the Constitution.

 

The Council of Fellows is the sole arbitrator of which individuals will be recognised as having the status of Life Fellow (LFAIPM).

 

At present, AIPM has five Life Fellows:

  • Bruce Hovey (NSW)
  • Alan Stretton (NSW)
  • Lynn Crawford (NSW)
